Failed Bank List

About this site

Failed Bank List is an independent reference to bank failures in the United States, built from the FDIC's public records. It gathers in one place what the FDIC publishes across several databases: the failure record, the bank's own quarterly reports in its final years, and the acquirer, and adds comparisons that are not published anywhere in this form: how each failure ranks by size and cost in its year, its state and the full record since 1934, which banks closed on the same day, and what else the acquiring bank took over.

The site is run by Dylan Murphy. It is not connected to the FDIC, any regulator, or any bank, carries no advertising at present, and does not give financial advice. Corrections are welcome at support@failedbanklist.online.
